Nonprofit

Food for Health

Food for Health came to RivalMind looking for a website that better reflected the heart of its work. As a community-centered nonprofit, the organization connects individuals facing health challenges with nutritious food, education, and meaningful human connection, helping improve lives one meal at a time.

Their brand already had all the right ingredients. Their website simply was not serving visitors the same experience. Outdated pages, broken links, and a fragmented user journey made it harder for volunteers, donors, and local partners to get involved. RivalMind brought everything together into a fresh, intuitive digital experience that helps Food for Health connect more people with its programs, volunteers, and mission.

Our Approach

Nourishing a stronger digital experience

Food for Health already had a trusted brand and an authentic story to tell. Rather than reinventing it, RivalMind built on that foundation by extending the organization's established visual identity across a modern website experience.

Familiar blues and greens were expanded with softer supporting tones, organic shapes, authentic volunteer photography, and custom iconography inspired by the organization's services. Together, these elements create a

digital experience that feels vibrant, approachable, and unmistakably human.

Behind the scenes, the experience was just as thoughtfully refined. Broken links were repaired, duplicate pages were removed, navigation was simplified, and volunteer opportunities, including the Teen Chef Program, were given greater visibility. Working alongside multiple stakeholders, RivalMind helped shape a website that's easier to navigate, easier to update, and ready to support continued growth.

Fresh paths to greater impact

The redesigned website creates a clearer path for volunteers, donors, and community partners to discover programs, access resources, and support Food for Health.

A streamlined site architecture and organized third-party resources for donations and events make the experience more intuitive for visitors. Behind the scenes, the Food for Health team now has a website that's easier to manage as programs, events, and resources continue to evolve.

Most importantly, Food for Health now has a digital presence that reflects the compassion, optimism, and connection behind its work. It's a website designed to bring more people to the table and help the organization expand its impact for years to come.

Friendly at first read.

Typography plays an important role in reinforcing Food for Health's approachable, community-centered brand. Mulish was selected for its clean, modern design and subtly rounded letterforms, giving headlines a friendly, welcoming presence while maintaining the professionalism expected of a trusted nonprofit.

Its exceptional readability keeps program information, volunteer opportunities, and educational resources easy to scan across every device. The result is a typography system that feels warm, accessible, and purpose-driven, helping visitors focus on the people, programs, and resources that matter most.

Fresh colors, familiar mission

Food for Health's color palette stayed rooted in the organization's established identity, building on its signature blues and greens while introducing softer tints to create greater depth, flexibility, and visual harmony throughout the website.

Balanced with clean white space, organic graphic elements, and authentic photography, the expanded palette creates a welcoming visual experience that reflects the compassion and optimism behind the organization. The thoughtful use of color also helps guide visitors naturally from programs to volunteer opportunities and donation resources while keeping the focus on the people at the heart of Food for Health's story.
